Ezra 6:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
4 With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:
5 And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.

Ezra 6:3-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)

3 “In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king issued a decree: ‘Concerning the house of God in Jerusalem, let the temple (house), the place where sacrifices are offered, be rebuilt and let its foundations be strongly laid, its height and its width each 60 cubits,4 with three layers of huge stones and one layer of timbers. Let the cost be paid from the royal treasury.5 Also let the gold and silver utensils of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be returned and brought back to their [proper] places in the temple in Jerusalem; and you shall put them in the house of God.’

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

3 60 cubits is about 90 ft. He is requesting that the king allowed to be done what was already decided. The temple was simply being rebuilt for the purpose of offering sacrifices to the Lord, simply for worship they were not trying to take back their independence just wanting to serve the Lord again, do we allow the temple in our lives to be rebuilt by God that way we can further serve Him or do we stop His work?

4 So the king was going to fund this temple being built but was not going to decide how it was built, this could only happen by God, the workers would actually be paid to build their temple.

5 They had possession of the items of the temple and they were to be returned, today it is not known where these items went after the Roman’s burned the temple.
