Numbers 20:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

Numbers 20:9-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD, just as He had commanded him; 10 and Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly before the rock. Moses said to them, “Listen now, you rebels; must we bring you water out of this rock?”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

9 So Moses obeys the Lord it is important when God gives us instructions that we follow them. As Believers we have the Spirit of the Lord with us as we live the life to please Him.

10 This could have just been the elders of each family or just the men but most likely it was everyone so this would have been many people seeing what was going to happen. Moses calls them rebels because they were complaining and turning against him and God. To have water come from a rock is very strange its something that doesn’t happen. The people were at the place where they could care less how it happened as long as they got water they were at the point they would give up everything for what they wanted which is a very dangerous place to.
