Miracles

I recently joined the Web-Church, and I am finding the community warm and supportive. I want to tell you of a miracle that I witnessed. I have three biological kids and one adopted. I consider them all to be equally my children.
One of my biological son’s was always the center of attention when he was in grade school. He was very likeable, and played for the crowd’s attention. He would do things that were “risky” to make everyone laugh. We went through a painful divorce when he was 11. I got custody of the boys and the daughter went with her mother.

Later as my son reached his teen years he began hanging out with other kids who had troubled families and told me these families used alcohol and drugs. I tried to get him to stop seeing these kids but couldn’t. He had problems in grade school. I had him go through a battery of tests, both academic and psychological. The results were inconclusive.

In his teens he got in trouble at school, and with the law. He started skipping school at 16. He started staying out late. He reached the point where I took him to a small local jail and had him put inside a cell and slammed the door. I said if you don’t change your ways this is where you will be spending your time.

His behavior didn’t change, and he was soon 18. I took the next step and filled out a Child In Need of Services Petition (CHINS) and was about to have him served when I found that he had fled the State and went to live with his mother in another State where the CHINS had no effect. I felt a mixed sense of love and anger toward my son. I was not close to God at that point. I accepted Jesus many years ago but had ignored that relationship for a long time.

I found out my son was getting in more trouble and he ended up in jail for theft. His sister and brother said that he acted strangely and that they were afraid of him. He was transferred to a State Facility for 4 years. It was while he was locked up that I found out from the Prison Psychologist that he had been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. I began to read about this disease and the symptoms fit what I knew, and what I had heard about my son. I visited him several times. I finally arranged to have his parole transferred to the State in which I lived so that I could help during his return to society.

Still I did not seek God’s help. It was all me, me, me. I took him to a Psychologist and got him to try medication for a short time, and then he stopped. He was exhibiting all the symptoms of a schizophrenic. He started hanging with a bad crowd again and ended back in trouble.

At some point during this time I went back to God, and began praying. Later I asked a small group of friends who knew Jesus to help pray for him. He had ended up in Jail in another State.

To bring this long saga to it’s current state: My son’s schizophrenia is gone. No medication was involved. He would't accept any. He couldn't refuse God's answer to prayer! It was all a result of God’s work. It is a miracle. Prayers were answered. Two years have elapsed since his release. He put together a list of goals, and has accomplished many of them. He now owns a house, and has a 4 moth old baby that he loves dearly. The signs of his schizophrenia are no longer a part of his personality. I do not know what the future will bring, and there are many things that could go wrong.

The bottom line is God answered prayer and a true Miracle occurred. Praise the Lord! Those who helped me with the prayers know about this, and their convictions have been renewed. To me this is as much of a Miracle as the one’s Jesus performed in the Bible. I know that all prayers won’t end this way that God works in mysterious ways.

I wanted to share this with you – there is always hope. I understand we won’t have a Miracle every time we pray.
I am a witness: the Almighty does answer prayer, and does perform miracles.

Praise God!

Thank you for your testimony.

There are many factors involved - most w do not comprehend - as so it appears that God does not answer some prayers.

But I suggest that He answers all prayers - maybe not quite in the way we would like - and maybe not in ways we can see.

All things work together for good, but we often do not recognize that it is the case. Are some people not healed miraculously but allowed to die in order to spare that person greater sorrows later? Or is there a comfort and peace involved that we who are not experiencing it do not realize?

I seriously doubt that God ever changes His mind - but it is quite possible the matter is left open so that which way He goes with a situation depends on us.

Shalom.

Dear Jose:

Thank you so much for sharing your testimony of the miracle you experienced.

What an awesome story to read. It gives me hope for my children. I have 5 total, plus one step-son. My three youngest are teens at this time, and are going through some different types of difficult times.

I know that God is the only answer for my children, and He will bring them through these times.

I am also relying on God to bless our website Founder, Pastor Glen Williams, with the miracle of divine healing and perfect health.

God Bless you and your family.
