Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Al Uthaymeen - rahimahullah - was asked: O sheikh, whether a person's request at his brother who was considered pious to pray for him and his brother was praying for himself in the situation he (the ask) do not know, whether this includes reducing trust people asking for prayer ?
If so, how do you vote against the story of Umar bin Al Khattab were asked Uwais Al Qorni to pray for him, but Umar greater than Uwais?
Shaykh rahimahullah said:
Request someone to his brother to pray for him, Initiator of known states that there is actually a form of begging in humans. If we look at history, that when the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam dibaiat by his companions, he sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said to them, "Do not ask others slightest (syai'an)." Syai'an (slightly any) here is the word in the form nakiroh. In the last sentence, said that within the context nakiroh denies (rescission). So that meant there was little else in common (includes everything). This method ushuliyah (the science of usul).
In practice the meaning of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, among his wand to the extent that there is a fall while he was on their vehicle. He went down and took his stick, he did not say the other brother, "Please give my staff." (They do not want to ask for help) because they have made a pledge to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, so do not ask other people slightest.
Suppose if in this case it is not merely asking why. But in conditions of begging like sometimes in a person's heart there is a self-contempt and prejudice on him that he made on others. Then he said, "Ya Akhi (brother) ...!"
We should be kind thought to God Almighty. If you are not the person who maqbul prayer (prayer come true), then of course your brother prayer also not beneficial to you. Therefore, you must be kind thought to God. Thou shalt not make God an intermediary between you and other people to pray to God for you. It is better if you want to pray, ask God directly.
Remember, Allah Ta'ala says,
Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret
" Invoke your Lord with humility, with a soft voice. "(QS. Al A'rof [7]: 55)
Own prayer to God is worship. How do you make yourself escape from this glorious worship?
Similarly, some people if asked to see his brother play to pray for him, so these people sometimes rely on the prayers of pious people. Even to the extent that he never prayed for himself (as in frequency ask the others).
Then came the third problem. It may be the person who requested prayers were being deceived by himself. This pious person could assume that he was the one who deserved to be requested prayer. (This is the danger arising from praying in others)
However, the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah has a pretty good opinion. He rahimahullah said:
When you ask your brother to pray for you, that you also want your brother to get good by doing good to you or you want to get the benefit because he has been praying for the situation you do not know -doa like this will diaminkan by angels and said: you too will get a semisalnya-, then this is not why (is allowed).
However, when you desire is purely expediency to you alone, then this is a disgrace.
As for the story of Umar (bin Al Khattab) radi 'anhu who asked Uwais (Al Qorni) to pray for themselves, then this is the command of the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam. And is dedicated to Uwais only (and nothing else). Therefore, never mind that another friend asked Umar to pray for him or seek to Abu Bakr, "O Abu Bakr, pray to God for us." Though Abu Bakr is better than Omar and better than Uwais, even more important on the other companions. So Umar request on this Uwais is dedicated to Uwais. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam has motivated friends, who met Uwais, then say to him, "O Uwais, pray to Allah for me." The story of Uwais Uwais is only specific to it, can not digeneralkan on the other.
Finally, we find the answers we are looking for from the first, namely how to ask others to pray for us. Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen explanations have been very explicit. So reprehensible is that if we ask our brothers to pray for us, but we want to be the only prayer helpful to us. If our intention with these requests is that our brothers also benefit as we earn, then this is not why. Consider one of the primacy of people who prayed for his brother when his brother did not know about it.
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
Call one Muslim brother back of the unseen is answered when his head whenever a client king called for his brother's okay, said King entrusted him with such Amen yours
"A Muslim prayer to his brother when his brother did not know is efficacious prayer (come true). At his side there is an angel (which has the task of embracing the do'anya to saudarany, pen). When he cried to his kindness, the angels said: Amen, you will get the same with him. "(HR. Muslim no. 2733).
If benefits as desired in this hadith of our brother brother -that we will get reciprocal of prayer on us-, then, this is not why.
If we pray for our brother, then he will also get a similar one. We ask him to pray for us to keep this thing in religion, then he will also be given guidance by God for the thing. If indeed the usefulness of this kind that we want to get our brothers also, the form of prayer requests like this not why. So, these two conditions distinguish them.
Therefore, we recommend that if we want to ask the prayers of our brother then we also wanted him to get benefit as we'll get. We ask him to pray for us to pass the exam. So should we also hope he gets this benefit is passed the test. We ask him to pray remains isiqomah Koran. So should we also hope he get this benefit are still istiqomah Koran. So, should we tell him is: O brother, pray so that you and I could pass the exam. Or: O brother, pray so that you and I can keep istiqomah Koran. That's better. Or can we resolve that he was on our prayers may also be useful for him.
May we be keistiqomahan in this religion. May we always get useful knowledge, facilitated the charity play and always given the wealth of Thoyib.
