Acts 3:17-26 King James Version (KJV)
17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Acts 3:17-26Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance [not aware of what you were doing], as did your rulers also.
18 Thus has God fulfilled what He foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ (the Messiah) should undergo ill treatment and be afflicted and suffer.
19 So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And that He may send [to you] the Christ (the Messiah), Who before was designated and appointed for you—even Jesus,
21 Whom heaven must receive [and retain] until the time for the complete restoration of all that God spoke by the mouth of all His holy prophets for ages past [from the most ancient time in the memory of man].
22 Thus Moses said to the forefathers, The Lord God will raise up for you a Prophet from among your brethren as [He raised up] me; Him you shall listen to and understand by hearing and heed in all things whatever He tells you.
23 And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to and understand by hearing and heed that Prophet shall be utterly exterminated from among the people.
24 Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel and those who came afterwards, as many as have spoken, also promised and foretold and proclaimed these days.
25 You are the descendants (sons) of the prophets and the heirs of the covenant which God made and gave to your forefathers, saying to Abraham, And in your Seed (Heir) shall all the families of the earth be blessed and benefited.
26 It was to you first that God sent His Servant and Son Jesus, when He raised Him up [provided and gave Him for us], to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness and evil ways.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

17 They did not know the truth, if they did then they would have followed Him rather then want to put Him to death; it was the Lord’s will for them to hand Him over.

18 It had to happen it seems bad that Christ died a horrible death but He had to so we might be saved His own would have to turn on Him, He would have to be betrayed and die for our sins so we can live by Him. The message of Christ coming to die was first mentioned in the Garden of Eden but it would not be clear until He died.

19 To turn to Christ and accept Him as Lord is to turn from our sins or to repent. We need His blood to cover our sins these is the only way we can have a conversion with the Lord. We are not worthy to be in the Lord presence but because Christ died for us we can thru Him by grace and faith and love.

20 The message of the gospel had been preached to those around Judea perhaps more than any other place in the world, most of Jesus; teaching was done to them, the early church preached to them, Peter had preached to them earlier, the witnesses Pentecost, Christ’s ministry but yet they refused Him. Peter tries again. As Long as we are called by God to do something we should keep doing it even if we don’t see results, He has a purpose for what He wants done even if we don’t see or understand it.

21 Jesus will return one day to finish everything and to bring His earthly kingdom.

22 This Prophet was seen as the Christ or Messiah which Jews still await today. Jesus is the one Moses was talking about Peter saw it and many others have but there are those who still are awaiting a sign or someone to come, He will come again but it will be to late for those who don’t know Him because they will fall for someone else since they don’t see the truth, they fall for lies.

23 By hear it means to listen to follow many may hear the word but reject the Word. Many will have no excuse that they did not hear but they refused to listen, many will reject Him.

24 The bible points to the need for a Savior one to come, Christ is the one who was to come and He will come again. All scripture points to Christ, He is the Word.

25 The Jews themselves were fulfillments of prophecies, most in fact referred to something that influence or was about the Jewish people. The bible was written by mostly Jewish born people, however by Christ we non-Jewish can now be adopted into the family by Him.

26 The greatest blessing God has given us is Jesus, He is the best gift ever given because only by Him can we be saved.
