The Storm Is Upon Us
The Spirit is moving
Out over the deep
The storm is upon us
This is no time to sleep
Our sons in foreign countries
Fight an elusive foe
The more we struggle in the mire
The deeper in we go
If the storm keeps on raging, the dam is going to break
The walls are crumbling; the foundations are going to shake
In the mystic garden
There was a fine mist in the air
It was too thin to feel it
But I knew the Spirit was there
So I posed a question, and gave it to Him
I said what do we do about
This mess we’re in
He said roll away the grave stone
Then I’ll give a shout:
Lazarus you’ve been dead too long
It’s time to come out
If the storm keeps on raging, the dam is going to break
The walls are crumbling; the foundations are going to shake
Well where can I go to do this
I think I’ll go to church today
But when I got there I found that
Their games got in the way
Yes they seek the light it’s true
But it’s in the shadows they reside
It’s time to come out of our graves
And get cleaned up inside
If the storm keeps on raging, the dam is going to break
The walls are crumbling; the foundations are going to shake
We took God and prayer are out of our schools
Now death and mayhem
Have come to rule
We reach for our solutions
But we just look like fools
Let’s remove the grave cloths
And shake off the blight
Then we will see clearly
The path that is right
The Spirit is moving out over the deep
The storm is upon us
This is no time to sleep

I think God wants us to wake up and realize that developing our relationship to Him is more important than our personal agendas. I also think that many if not most churches today are doing a great job telling us about God, but not showing us how to experience God.
