Hi, I'm twenty years old and I have an addiction to internet pornography and masturbation. I started at a young age (around 10-12 years old). I was fist introduced to it when I was eight years old. I've let this addiction control my life for too long. I'm uninterested in a track to a more fulfilling life in Christ as all of energy goes into my addiction. I don't have too much of a social life. The most social interaction I have, is the twice a week church gatherings and the every-once-in-awhile social gatherings with my roommates' friends. I really don't know where to go from prayer, as I have a week prayer life it doesn't happen enough. I've made plans to instead of indulging my addiction when the urge strikes, to do something else, like read my bible or play guitar. But I suppose practice and encouragement and strength is what I need. So I ask you please, to pray for me. Thank you so much.

Your addiction is no different than that which many others have to illegal drugs. It is a desire to feel or get "high". The perfect "high" is Jesus Christ because HE LASTS forever!! All other "highs" are temporary and need to be fed again and again. You need a replacement only found in Jesus Christ. If I can help you place a new focus on Him, I would be happy to do so. Some people won't touch this subject, but I personally admired the honesty contained within your prayer request. Stop by here again sometime, instead of the porn sites. A deal?

--------------------
May you be comforted by the loving heart of Jesus in your every need.

American Christians have the highest divorce rate in the world. Same-sex marriage is sweeping western "Christian" countries. We're really good at hugging people practicing immorality, which doesn't seem to be either a biblical or practical response.

With the woman caught in adultery, Jesus told her to sin no more. The Law of Moses calls for the execution of such offenders (although, illegal under Roman law).

To the rich man, Jesus told him to give away his possessions. This made him very sad because he had a lot.

Paul says to expel the immoral brother, do not even eat with such a man.

Where did Jesus respond to a sinner with anything like, "God loves you, focus on Me..."?

I want to go to church to worship God and to momentarily retreat from the corruption of the world, not to go to Church to surround myself with people wanting therapy and to be comforted in their sins. The church has lost its focus on God and wants to kiss up to the world, proving it's not "hateful" by being non-judging sin -- which leaves a trail of suffering and spiritual wreckage, and even the loss of our freedoms to live by moral standards.

Someone who wants to stop using porn needs to arrange it so he doesn't have private access to a computer and he needs to find wholesome ways to fill his time so he doesn't have idle hands. And, if he's single, he should get married. If he won't do this, he's like the rich man whom Jesus told to give away his possessions, making the man sad because he didn't want to take this step.

As I just said: Someone who wants to stop using porn needs to arrange it so he doesn't have private access to a computer and he needs to find wholesome ways to fill his time so he doesn't have idle hands. And, if he's single, he should get married. If he won't do this, he's like the rich man whom Jesus told to give away his possessions, making the man sad because he didn't want to take this step.

The Christian community is failing their people in so many ways. It should be standard for Christians to be married as teenagers. And, Christians parents should be doing better at protecting their children. And, the Christian community should be doing more to demand that society not corrupt their children.

Hi. Thank you for your honesty. The key to having victory over lust is to acknowledge Christ's victory over sin

I have made a very simple Google homepage with that acknowledgement.

go to jlandbirk.freehostingcloud.com/Homepage/homepage.html

save as web page

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but I have come that they may have life and life to the full - John 10:10

Christ is Life!!!

Hi,

I totally understand what you are going through. I have also struggled with that problem for many years. A book that has helped me is called The Awakened Phoenix by Kaylin Rose. I think you can find it on amazon.com.

I will pray for you and don't give up. God is stronger than any temptation. Also, don't beat yourself up. Keep moving forward in Christ.

Blessings,

Surrender helped me. To not necessarily fight it, but to surrender the urges to Christ.
