Oh, how easy we find it to judge others, to learn the Word of God and beat others up with it, or to just sit and listen and listen and listen, never applying it to our own lives. Jesus said you have to follow His teaching before you can know the truth and have it set you free. How few of us are willing to open ourselves up for the examination of God's Word in our own lives. Until we're doing that, we're worthless trying to help or correct others. Maybe that's why Jesus said for us to get the logs out of our own eyes before trying to clear the sawdust out of someone else's. I've been reading through the Bible at least once a year since 1989. I've missed a few days here and there, but I can tell you every time I get into His Word, I find something else new and exciting I can apply to my own life to get closer to God and to be a better servant of His. I've often said, if you aren't willing to do it, what's the point of reading it or listening to it or hearing others talk about it? Just as faith without action is useless, the Word without application is useless. You want the power of God you see in the Bible to be in your life? Get into His Word and get His Word into you by doing it! You'll never be the same weak, fearful person again.
