My wife has just had a cat scan and they are going to do immediate surgery.

We are on our way to the hospital.

Please pray.

Thank you, Glen.

As you probably don’t know (in that I have not been on this sight long enough to recount all these things) my family and I have had something horrendous happen every Christmas season and it appeared that this year we finally made it through December un-scathed. But I guess not.

I have this sense that of all the miraculous events that had to fall into place for us to get out of Las Vegas just to get this far; that God didn’t bring us all the way to abandon us but there is a purpose in it that we do yet perceive.

Last night went like this: Sue was at our niece’s apartment when she got the news that she had to go to the hospital. She thought that something had happened to one of us and she was a wreck.

When she got there, they wanted to put an IV in hr but she did not understand why - and refused until she talked to a doctor to see what this was all about. Sue went to College to learn medical coding and worked at Sunrise Hospital for couple of years - so she understands the terminology.

What the deal is: is that she has a tumor on the brain close to the main artery from her heart. There is swelling around the tumor causing hydrocephalus (water on the brain). They wanted to reduce the swelling with steroids through IV - then do an MRI to get a better perspective in the problem.

The prognosis is that she could go into a coma at any time, or hemorrhage and basically that’s it for Sue.

She knows that this is cancer and she knows how unlikely she will survive treatment. She has opted to take a steroid orally and come home. She has agreed to go ahead with the MRI and has an appointment with a neurologist on the 4th.

So, we are needing to get our house in order as Sue is our sole source of transportation, does all the grocery shopping, foes most of the cooking, washing clothes, seeing that everyone has their proper medication, and as care-given signs John’s and Julie’s Federal and State checks. All that has to be changed over to me or some-one.

I don’t know what to think other than I am not believing God has brought us all this way for nothing.

Shalom.

May His strength and peace be
manifest through all of this..

I send you my sincerest consolation but I also
know that the prayers of His people are powerful
and I will be praying for her full recovery,,
as this is what is in my heart to do..

Update…

Sue has survived in spite of the doctors’ thinking it unlikely without immediate surgery to put in a shunt. She saw the neurosurgeon today who suspects it might not be a bad as the ER doctors thought, but still bad. He suspects it is not malignant but is benign, and he thinks it operable with a fairly good chance of recovery without adverse effects from the operation.

However; please do not think we are out of the woods on this because they did not do an MRI today as I was expecting but he is scheduling one along with other tests. He really will not have a more clear prognosis to know how bad the situation is until he has seen the results of those tests.

He is not thinking that she will die any minute although there is the possibility she could have a stroke at any time.

We have changed all legalities over into my name including a “Do not resuscitate” document. Sue is adamant that she doesn’t want to go through the hell of a cancer operation only to spend the rest of her life in a nursing home.

However; God is able and He has given us many Miracles getting us this far. He has invested a lot in us - will He quit now? We don’t think so, but whatever His Will is, that’s His Will and we must be prepared to accept it.

It is not God who causes cancer, it is the handiwork of Satan & Co. - and God is able to reach in and detach Satan’s handiwork in less than a blink of an eye.

Shalom.

Psalms 91: 14-16

"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation."

I am a new poster to this forum and very grateful that God led me here. I just want to say from the few post I have read, you and your wife have a relationship with God and know Him and His power. I am sure His words are hidden in your heart so as a friendly reminder the scripture above, God's promise, will surely be kept. God bless!
