Other 1 Corinthians Bible Studies & Background
1. How is it that Israel drank from Christ before Jesus was born?
2. How does the examples Paul makes of Israel apply to us as Christians today? How about, to you?
3. Verse 13 is well known to Christians today...give examples from your experience of when you were given a way out.
4. What do you feel is the difference between Paul telling us we can eat meat sacrificed to idols (chap 8) and verses 14-22. There is a reason he covers this twice...find it.
5. Does Paul mean iv vs 23 that Christians can do anything? Why/Why not?
6. Paul mentions 2 things that seem to limit our liberty...the good of others and vs 31. List some things that may be allowed for us but these 2 things restrict.
7. Related question: 1 Corinthians seems to say, as Romans did, that Christian rights and wrongs can't be defined by the law or rules. How do you feel our behavior is governed? Specifically, are the sins listed in the Bible sins for Christians? Are there sins not listed in the Bible? Are all Christians governed by the same list of rights and wrongs?
Have a nice week!
