1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Gifts Of The Holy Spirit:

1.  What do you feel Paul means in vs 1-3?  Are these "evidence" of the Holy Spirit in someone's life?

2.  Why do you feel God gives us Holy Spirit gifts?

3.  What do you feel is the difference between the gifts message of wisdom and message of knowledge?

4.  Explain the difference between faith, given to all Christians, and the gift of faith, given to only some Christians.

5.  What do you feel "distinguishing between spirits" means?

6.  Does the Bible say the gift of tongues is given to all Christians?

7.  Are there any gifts listed here that Paul says are not manifestations of the Holy Spirit?

8.  Who decides which Christian gets which gifts?

1 Corinthians 12:12-31 The Body Of Christ:

1.  How does viewing those who are in Christ as one body relate to the different Spiritual Gifts?

2.  Who "baptizes" us into the body of Christ?  Does this have anything to do with literal water?  Explain.

3.  Viewing the body parts as the Spiritual Gifts, are there any the body can do without?

4.  Consider the gifts in vs 1-11, are there any that are not welcome to be exercised where you worship?  Why?

5.  What happens to a body if a part does not function?  Does the word "disabled" come to mind?

6.  Who arranged the parts of the body of Christ?  Then, who are we disobeying by denying part of His body?

7.  What does this section tell you about people who place too much emphasis on one Spiritual gift or another?

8.  What Spiritual Gifts do you feel Paul was saying needed to be treated with "special modesty?"  Why?

9.  In vs 24-26, Paul says the lesser parts of the body should have greater honor so all would have equal concern.  How does this compare to the way people are treated where you worship?

10.  Do you feel the appointments in vs 28-31 represent different levels of importance?  How does this compare to vs 21-22?

11.  Which gifts do you feel Paul means by "greater gifts?"  Why?
