Paul's Defense Before King Agrippa, Acts 26:1-11

1.  What do you feel were the similarities and differences between how Paul treated Festus and Agrippa?

2.  Considering either man had the authority to execute him, why do you feel Paul treated them so differently?

3.  What could we learn from Paul before Agrippa that would help us when we're before people in high office?

4.  Do you feel there was anything misleading in Paul's defense of himself?

5.  Was King Agrippa a Jewish official or a Roman official?  How would that influence the ultimate resolution of the case?

6.  How do you feel it serves Paul's defense to admit to hunting down Christians and voting to execute them because of their beliefs?

Paul's Testimony...Defense or Offense, Acts 26:12-32:

1.  If, in your trial, you told the court, "this person came back from the dead and told me to do it." what do you feel would be the outcome of your trial?

2.  What do you feel might be the reasons for Paul to expect a different outcome?

3.  Considering King Agrippa's position as the Jewish King, do you think there was any value given to the "vision from heaven" defense?

4.  If not defense, what might be Paul's motive for the testimony?

5.  When Paul said he preached repentance to the Jews, how might the Jews be expected to react?

6.  When Paul says the Christ would be first to rise from the dead...who is he implying will follow?

7.  What do you think prompted Festus to shout at Paul before the King?  Does this reveal any hidden agenda's?

8.  Since Festus and Agrippa agreed that Paul should have been set free, what was keeping him from being freed?  There are more than one right answer to this!
